In light of the NBA hosting their all-star weekend, last Friday, St. Marcellinus' very own Black Students Association (BSA) organized a thrilling student vs teacher basketball game. The event was held during 4th period and it was an excellent opportunity for students and teachers to have some fun while letting off some steam together on the court. The game was intense and the competition was fierce as both teams were determined to win.

The game kept everyone on the edge of their seats until the very end! With 38 seconds on the clock, Mr. Morgan brought redemption to the teachers, making a three-pointer to bring the score to within three points. But, a last-second steal by the students prevented the teachers from making the shot they needed to tie the game. With a final score of 32 to 29, the students prevailed and narrowly defeated the teachers.

The BSA did an excellent job in organizing the event and creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere for all. Even though they were unable to win, the teachers certainly felt incredibly successful with their score of 29 points. Post-game interviews revealed that several teachers had some concerns with some of the calls made by the student officials. Although this can’t be confirmed, the teacher vs students basketball game organized by the BSA at St. Marcellinus was a great success and is sure to take place for years to come.

Sports events like these are not only a great way to bring people together, but they also provide an opportunity for students and teachers to interact and build positive relationships. It's important for students to see their teachers in a different light outside of the classroom, and for teachers to see their students as individuals with unique talents and abilities. The game brought the school community together, showcased the talents of both students and teachers, and provided an enjoyable break from the routine of the school day.
